Airbus Canada union members in Mirabel rejected the employer’s offer as part of negotiations on their collective agreement and took a strike vote, the union of the International Association of Machinists and Workers (AIMTA) announced on Sunday.

The union said in a press release more than 82 per cent of union members voted during the vote. Among them, 99.6 per cent of members of the Airbus Canada unit, local 712, spoke out against the employer’s offer. The strike vote was supported by 98.9 per cent of members who voted, thus giving the union the power to call a strike.
