An actress known for her role in a hit Hallmark Channel series filmed in Langley is said to be on life support after falling five storeys from a Vancouver hospital balcony.
Mamie Laverock, 19, had been in intensive care at an unnamed Vancouver hospital for two weeks before the May 26 fall, according to a GoFundMe page set up by her parents Rob and Nicole Compton.

“We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories. She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” the GoFundMe page reads.

“We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”
Laverock previously had a “medical emergency” in Winnipeg on May 11 and had “since been transferred to hospital here in Vancouver.”
Laverock appeared in the Hallmark series ‘When Calls the Heart’ from 2014-2023, while her other credits include ‘This Means War,’ ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ and ‘The Hollow Child.’
Laverock’s fans and fellow actors have shown their support on social media, with ‘When Calls the Heart’ co-star Johannah Newmarch writing on X: “I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”
