Edmonton police say three security guards were injured after attempting to remove a knife-wielding suspect from a downtown library on Tuesday.

The Edmonton Police Service tells CityNews the security guards suffered minor cuts in the altercation at Stanley Milner Library just after 5 p.m.

“None seriously,” said EPS spokesperson Cheryl Voordenhout when describing the injuries.

The 37-year-old suspect was taken into custody.
