Four men face charges and more than $200,000 worth of cocaine, meth, fentanyl and GHB have been seized after a five-month drug trafficking probe by Edmonton police.

In November of 2023, the city police special project team officers launched the investigation into an area drug trafficking network before several suspects were identified, and search warrants for various residences and vehicles were obtained, police said in a Wednesday news release.

As a result the warrants, investigators seized a significant amount of illicit drugs, including:

  • More than 2 kg of cocaine with an estimated street value over $176,000;
  • More than 450 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value over $27,500;
  • More than 85 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $13,000;
  • More than 10,000 ml of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) with an estimated street value over $10,000;
  • More than 65 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,400;
  • More than 120 grams of hash with an estimated street value over $3,000;
  • More than 1,000 Oxycodone and Oxycocet pills with an estimated street value over $5,000;
  • More than 1.1 kg of Phenacetin with an estimated street value over $5,700;

Investigators believe the approximate value of the illicit drugs seized to be around $246,000.

“Drug trafficking networks have far-reaching impacts to our citizens and community,” Sgt. Ian Vicker, with the city police southwest branch special project team, said in the news release.

“Individuals involved in these activities travel around the city and deliver illicit drugs to citizens who are often quite vulnerable.

“Citizens are also reminded that they can still report information to police anonymously via Crime Stoppers.”

Johnpreet Singh Kang, 36, is wanted by police for two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Harshdeep Singh Sohal, 22, is charged with 12 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Prabhjot Singh Atwal, 20, is charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to public.

Harman Sandhu, 20, is charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
