Two men have been arrested and face murder charges in a fatal shooting at a Red Deer apartment Thursday, Mounties say.

Red Deer RCMP say they went to an apartment building on Parke Avenue on reports of a shooting on March 21 just before 4 p.m. and found a suspect fleeing the scene.

After a short foot chase, they arrested him and seized a firearm.

A second suspect was also located near the scene and arrested.

Meanwhile, officers found and identified the victim as 54-year-old Red Deer man Jason Cory Worobec.

As a result of the arrests, RCMP has charged 45-year-old Lance Michael Bilsky with second-degree murder, and 46-year-old Corey Duane Archer with accessory after the fact to murder.

The Alberta RCMP’s major crime unit is now investigating the shooting.

Archer is expected to appear in court on March 25, while Bilsky will next appear on March 27.
