A US Navy warship has shot down missiles fired by the Houthi rebel group based in Yemen heading for Israel.
Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder told reporters, the Houthi group based in Yemen fired “several drones” and three land attack cruise missiles.
He added, “They were launched from Yemen heading north along the Red Sea, potentially towards targets in Israel.”

The USS Carney destroyer based in the Red Sea shot down the Houthis cruise missiles and drones that were “potentially” heading towards Israel.
The US State Department has issued a worldwide alert to American citizens amid “increased tensions in various locations around the world,” warning of potential terrorist attacks or “violent actions” against them.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has warned that the “risk of a regional spillover is real.”
Speaking to a thinktank in Washington, “We have seen the Arab streets fill with rage all across the region. So the risk of a regional spillover is real.”
She criticised the “evil role” that Iran is playing “in the background” and said it is “without question” that Tehran has supplied 93% of the weapons being used by Hamas on Israel.
