One content creator on TikTok is revealing how you can save the equivalent of over £4,000 in 100 days.

Mardia (@createdbymardia), otherwise known as Budget Baddie, is a money-saving expert on the social media platform.

In her TikToks, she regularly documents how people can better save their money using easy lifestyle hacks.

One of the savings tips she recommends is the 100 envelope challenge which could see people save thousands.

This involves people taking 100 envelopes, numbering each of them and then saving the corresponding amount of money in each envelope.

In a recent video, Mardia shared how she was able to use the 100 envelopes savings hack to her advantage.

So far, the less-than-a-minute-long clip has over 470,000 likes and more than 2,000 comments from TikTok users.

The video came with the caption: “How to save $5000 in 100 days easily! #fyp #learnsontiktok #budgetingtips #budgetingtipsandtricks #moneychallenge #blackgirltiktok #savingmoney #5000dollarchallenge.”

As part of the clip, Mardia discussed how the savings trick allows her to keep tabs on her money.

She explained: “If you want to save $5,000 (£4,106) in 100 days, then this is the video for you. What you’ll need is a notebook, envelopes and a pen, preferably in two different colours.

“I start off by numbering my notebook from one to 100, as well as the envelopes from one to 100. It’s an easy way to keep track of what you have saved so far.

“I’m already halfway through the process and this is what I saved so far. Just going to place them all out and go through my list to check out the ones I’ve already saved.

“If you’re anything like me, I’m a visual person, and I like to see the progress I have made so far. Also, it’s an easy way to add it up and keep track to see how much you have left to go.”

Showing one of the pages in the notebook, the content creator everything she has saved up to the day she posted the video.

After doing this, Marida used the calculator on her phone to calculate all the “missing” envelopes which was $2,188 (£1,796).

The TikToker then substracted this figure from $5,000 which meant her total savings came to $2,812 (£2,309).
