The chair of the British Palestinian Committee has accused Israel of “committing atrocities” in Gaza after Israeli bombing cut off the internet and communications.
Aimee Shalan said that Israel “continue committing atrocities without the world being able to see what was going on.”
Shalan said that “Palestinians were slaughtered in the dark,” after Gaza’s internet and communications were cut off.
Sky News reported that she was asked for her opinion on the British government’s position, Shalan said this is “allowing Israel to enter the next stage of its brutal assault, wreaking carnage that is geared towards the ultimate ethnic cleansing of Gaza.

Israeli troops are going in mobilised by the conviction that they are coming to deal with human animals.
“So this isn’t the time for a delicate, diplomatic balancing act.”
Shalan added, “The only thing that can prevent genocide from continuing in Gaza is for countries like the UK to stop providing weapons and other military support to Israel, to stop supporting the mass killing and collective punishment of Palestinians, and to push for a full and immediate ceasefire.”
The British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said on Saturday the government supports Israel’s right to defend themselves.
Cleverly said Hamas “habitually embed military capabilities within civilian infrastructure,” which is therefore being bombed by Israel.
Amnesty International said it had lost contact with their team members in Gaza on Friday evening.
Erika Guevara Rosas, senior director of research, advocacy, policy and campaigns, said in a statement, “This communications blackout means that it will be even more difficult to obtain critical information and evidence about human rights violations and war crimes being committed against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, and to hear directly from those experiencing the violations.”
The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Saturday during a news conference that Israeli forces remain “in the field” and they are conducting significant strikes on Gaza from air and sea.
Hagari said that overnight Hamas commanders were killed including a naval chief, adding, “Their killing is a significant phase of progress in combat, and means we are going to fight a weaker enemy.”
