With many daily living costs continuing to rise, many Britons due to receive payments from the Government in November may want to check when their income will arrive.
This includes the second instalment of a cost of living payment, worth £300, which is currently going out to people on certain means-tested benefits.
Benefits and state pension payments will go out on their usual dates this month as there are bank holidays to affect payment dates.
These payments will go out as usual:
- Universal Credit
- State pension
- Pension Credit
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Carer’s Allowance
- Employment Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Jobseeker’s Allowance.
Some eight million people on low incomes are receiving a £300 cost of living payment – this is the second instalment of a £900 payment going out over this financial year.
People on these benefits will get the payment, as long as they were entitled to one of these benefits between August 18, 2023, and September 17, 2023:
- Universal Credit
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Pension Credit.
The payments are going out between October 31 and November 19 so if a person has not received their money in their bank account yet, it should arrive over the next two weeks.
The reference for bank accounts will be the recipient’s National Insurance number followed by DWP COL or HMRC COLS.
The DWP will be sending out the £300 payment to seven million households while HMRC will send out the payments to around 830,000 more.
Older Britons and those on low incomes eligible for the Warm Home Discount should also receive their payment soon, a £150 discount off their electricity or gas bill.
The money goes directly to a person’s energy supplier to ultimately come off their bill rather than being paid into an individual’s bank account.
In most cases, the discount will be applied automatically to a person’s bill, between early October 2023 and the end of March 2024.
