A high-ranking European official told reporters on condition of anonymity on Wednesday that by the year end the EU will send to Ukraine “500,000 out of a million” shells.
The official also confirmed that the 1 million shells previously promised will be sent in the new year by the EU.
The senior official said, “We’re going to deliver, I think, 500,000 out of a million by the end of this year.
“I believe we will achieve a million next year. But it is true that we are a little delayed.”

He said that there will be a “slight delay” in the delivery of promised 1 million shells for Ukraine in the new year.
The official added the EU are also working with other partners, which is not always publicly known, “to acquire some projectiles from other countries that have them.”
Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre has told President Volodymyr Zelensky that they will supply Ukraine with a bipartisan uphold, a five-year-long assistance package for Ukraine’s defense, economy, and restoration efforts.
Norway has allocated $1 billion in 2023 for Ukraine to pay salaries for teachers, doctors, nurses and other workers in the country.
The Norwegian government added that they will reinforce their financial and humanitarian assistance by nearly $800 million for 2023.
