People across the UK may still be entitled to cost of living payments from the Department for Work and Pensions, with those that didn’t claim the funds initially potentially missing out on £950.
One claimant posted about their success in claiming £950 on BirminghamLive’s Facebook Cost of Living group after they submitted an online form for missing payments.
This hefty sum consists of three seperate cost of living payments for individuals on Universal Credit, and other means-tested benefits, of £326, £324, and £301.
Two of these payments were initially intended for the recepient to access in the first rollout in 2022/3 and the other is from 2023/4.
The claimant is expected to receive these funds in the coming days.
This is why it is important to double check if you are owed any of these payments using the Gov.uk link here.
The website gives the following advice to people trying to access these payments: “Most people should have received their £301, £300 and £299 Cost of Living Payments and £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment for 2023 and 2024.
“You’ll need your National Insurance number. If you’ve lost your National Insurance number, check how to find a lost National Insurance number.
Before reporting a missing payment, check your bank, building society or credit union account, or your Payment Exception Service voucher receipt. The payment will be made separately from your benefit.”
If you were expecting one of the following Cost of Living Payments but have not received it, you can report it as missing:
£301 paid between 25 April 2023 and 17 May 2023 for most people
£300 paid between 31 October and 19 November 2023 for most people
£299 paid between 6 February and 22 February 2024 for most people
£150 Disability Cost of Living Payment paid between 20 June 2023 and 4 July 2023 for most people
A DWP spokesperson said:”We have continued to manually process payments where the automatic payment bounced back or was not processed, which could be for a number of reasons.
“These people makeup a tiny fraction of overall cases and will be paid as soon as possible. People who believe they are eligible and haven’t received the payment yet can complete the missing payment form on GOV.UK.”
