The first currency with a portrait of King Charles III will enter circulation in June, the Bank of England said Wednesday.

The notes with Charles’s portrait will appear on the £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes. Notes with Queen Elizabeth II on them will still remain in circulation.

The Bank of England said the new notes will be printed to replace those that are worn and to meet any increase in demand. “Our approach is in line with guidance from the Royal Household, to minimize the environmental and financial impact of this change. This means the public will begin to see the new King Charles III notes very gradually,” said the Bank of England.
