Closing of Kroger, Albertsons, C&S deal delayed

Proposed merger of US grocery giants Hooks and Albertsonsand the sale of C&S Wholesale Grocers assets will take place later than previously anticipated as the companies continue discussions with regulators.

In a joint statement on Monday, the companies said that thanks to ongoing discussions with the Federal Trade Commission and individual state attorneys general, they expect the deal to close in the first half of Kroger’s 2024 fiscal year.
