TORONTO—Canadian auto workers went on strike against Stellantis after midnight Monday, when the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
The walkout by about 8,200 members of Canada’s Unifor union will close five Stellantis plants in Canada. The immediate impact on the automaker’s production will be limited, however, because the company’s largest facility—an assembly plant in Windsor, Ontario, that makes the Chrysler Pacifica, Voyager and Grand Caravan minivans—had already been shut for retooling.
