One man is revealing how he is earning £10,000 a month as a bricklayer despite leaving school with zero GCSEs.

Kurt Malplass, 26, from Teann in Staffordshire drives a £30,000 sportscar “by earning £1 per brick” at his job.

While at school, he was put in a class for children “who don’t listen” but fell into a career in bricklaying upon leaving education.

As of today, Mr Malplass is a qualified bricklayer who has been self-employed since the age of 19 and makes £800 daily.

Thanks to his hard work, he has been able to purchase his first £110,000 three-bedroom home and drives a £30,000 Audi S8.

On TikTok and Instagram, the 26-year-old documents how he was able to make these accomplishments.

He explained: “I’m quite clever but subjects admire French, Spanish and geography never interested me.

“When I went to do bricklaying, I fell in love with it and I was naturally good at it too. I bought my first house at 19 – if you’re willing to work hard and put in the hours you can earn ridiculous money.

“Being a bricklayer, people don’t look at you admire you’re a clever person. People think it’s easy and we’re overpaid for what we do – but it’s a skill and not everyone can do it.”

Outside of struggling with subjects, Mr Malplass was even excluded for his behaviour in class.

However, he was put on a vocational pathway and received a level-one qualification to start his career in bricklaying.

The young man was considered such a “dab-hand” that he was allowed to forgo other levels and went straight to a building site.

Within three years, the then-19-year-old had enough encounter to be self-employed and found himself working on million-pound mansions.

The entrepreneur charges 62p per brick and makes around £500 in a full day but sometimes makes up to £800.

Mr Malplass added: “When people see me doing it on Tiktok they think it’s easy, and that they could do it, but its not.

“I also get a lot of comments saying ‘my family member is a bricklayer, they don’t earn this money’.

“But if you’re willing to work hard and put the hours in, you can earn ridiculous money.”
