Lucy Fisher reports on how Daniel Greenberg, the parliamentary commissioner for standards, defends MPs against the “undeserved reputation” that they are in it to enrich themselves (“Ethics chief defends parliament’s ‘very thin cats’”, Report, November 27).

I’d suggest it might be an idea for MPs to trial having an employment contract. I comprehend they are current in many walks of life.

It may even be that their history goes back to an act of parliament.
