Finding the right Bluetooth speaker is a daunting task. If you want to invest in something good, you need to find a balance between portability, sound quality, and pricing. Anker has carved out a niche with its Soundcore audio products, which strike a decent balance between affordability and quality. Now the company has revealed the new Soundcore Motion X500 speaker, which has an array of premium features (including spatial audio) in a relatively small footprint.

The Anker Soundcore Motion X500 might not look like a powerful speaker at first glance. It is, after all, small enough to take with you basically anywhere, in your bag or even in your hand using the built-in handle. But Anker has equipped this with three full-range drivers, an upward-pointing driver, and 40 watts of audio output. The result is speakers that sound really good, with LDAC codec compatibility and a 9-band EQ, and also loud despite the relatively small size of the speaker.

The speaker features an aluminum body as well as a handle that lets you take it with you wherever you want, ensuring you can blast your music anywhere you want without having to take around a huge speaker. Compact-sized speakers are not new, and these are definitely not the first compact speakers to sound good, so this isn’t really anything revolutionary, but it’s good to have more good compact options.

Anker has also integrated a 6,400 mAh battery, letting you listen to music for hours on end, as well as IPX7 certification ensuring that the speaker can take an occasional splash. There are even LED lights on the top of the speakers, which will change based on what EQ mode is selected. Visual feedback is always helpful.

The speaker is now available for pre-order in the UK for £129.99, which is the equivalent of $158.08 as of the time of writing. This is a limited-time offer, however, and the speaker will go on sale on November 9th for a slightly higher £169.99 ($206.74). We don’t have information about availability in the United States just yet, but that will probably come soon.
