Country music fans can get their tight-fitting jeans on and get ready to celebrate after the first list of performers released Wednesday for the upcoming Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards show in Edmonton at Rogers Place.

Country-pop sensation Dasha, Jade Eagleson, Edmonton’s own Brett Kissel, The Reklaws and Dallas Smith will be performing on stage throughout the awards show on Sept. 14.

Dasha is the reigning 2023 CCMA Entertainer of the Year, while Eagleson is the 2023 Male Artist of the Year. Kissel, who’s well-known not just in his hometown of Edmonton, but across North America is a 22-time CCMA award winner. The Reklaws have won eight CCMA awards, and Smith is a two-time Juno award winner and three-time CCMA Entertainer of the Year award winner.

“We’re thrilled to announce the first round of performers for Canada’s biggest night in country music, each bringing their own unique flair to the stage,” said CCMA president Amy Jeninga, in a news release.

“With homegrown artists showcasing the remarkable talent this country has to offer, alongside international stars who have captivated audiences worldwide, this lineup promises to be nothing short of spectacular. We can’t wait to share their incredible performances live in Edmonton and with all of Canada, making this a night to remember for music fans from coast to coast.”

The CCMA previously announced eight-time American Country Music award winner and two-time Canadian Music Association winner Thomas Rhett will be hosting the award show along with Canadian country music star and actor MacKenzie Porter.
