The LaSalle Strawberry Festival once again drew in huge crowds from all over town and across the county throughout the weekend.
Along with exhilarating carnival rides and games, the popular four-day outdoor festival also included fireworks, live entertainment, a parade and, of course, a strawberry-eating contest.
“It just brings our whole family together,” said Windsor’s Alexandra Muzzin. “We come with a big group of people and it’s just a nice day for everyone.”

The highlight of the weekend was the offering of local strawberries from Raymont’s Berries in Cottom paired with ice cream, made possible through a partnership between the Town of LaSalle and Life After Fifty.
Muzzin told the Star that she returns every year with her husband and two kids because of “the fun and the excitement” that the festival promises.
“The kids also love the ice cream,” she said.
Muzzin added that her family had enjoyed all the carnival rides and planned to end the day with the scariest one of all — the towering Drop Zone.
She said her kids “start off a little timid” at the beginning of the day, but halfway through they ease up and transform into thrill-seekers.

The carnival, held on the grounds next to the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, has attracted more than 30,000 people in the last two years.
In March, the town was recognized as a provincial top festival city at the Festival & Events Ontario gala.
LaSalle’s Strawberry Festival was also recognized at the FEO’s ‘Imagine’ achievement Top 100 awards gala in February, celebrating the best of 2023.
The annual parade took place on Saturday morning and began at Old Front Road, near the Turkey Creek Bridge, and traveled along Front Road, ending at Sacred Heart Drive.
The weekend, packed with family-friendly fun, lasted Thursday through Sunday.
