Dragon Festival

The Dragons Unleashed parade starts at 97 Street and 107 Avenue on Saturday at 11 a.m., kicking off Chinatown Transformation Collaborative’s Dragon Festival!

Don’t miss a photo workshop by brilliant gig photographer Larry Wong and amazing travel shooter Larry Louie at the CTC Storytelling Centre, located at 10601 97 St., from 3-4:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., it’s Dragons Everywhere at Louise McKinney.

And next Saturday, Marty Chan will read from Dragons on the Loose at the CTC Centre!

Northern Bricks

If the brick fits, click it! Legendary local Legomaniacs NALUG (Northern Alberta Lego User’s Group) have assembled the inaugural Northern Bricks event. It’s full of more than 100 builds from over 40 enthusiasts across the province — including Lego Masters Stephen Joo and Sam Malmberg, plus Malmberg’s mom, Neena Ahluwalia.

Bear witness to a massive Star Trek Borg cube, huge castles and an event-exclusive set made by Malmberg for sale.

Snacks and a children’s play brick area are also on deck.

Listening to the Land

Christina Battle and Lara Felsing present this multimedia duo show that explores the relationships between our natural environment and human communities. Thinking about the potential of artistic gestures in a world on fire, the exhibition invites viewers to lean into gentleness and caring.

The artists will be around to talk at the opening from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
