A person was rushed to the hospital after being discovered this afternoon in the Bow River by Crowchild Trail, says the Calgary Fire Department.
Authorities were dispatched at 3:46 p.m. Thursday afternoon after receiving calls reporting a person in the south side of the Bow River near the Crowchild Trail bridge.
“Reports of a patient face-down in relatively shallow water. We were able to access and retrieve the patient fairly quickly,” said Bruce Barrs, battalion chief for the Calgary Fire Department.
The person was located 50 metres from shore. CPR was administered shortly after being pulled to solid ground and the patient was transported to hospital.
The Calgary Police Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
