A 19-year-old male is facing a pair of assault charges in connection to the stabbing of a teen Saturday night.

Windsor police began searching for a suspect after a 16-year-old male was stabbed multiple times at a park just west of the city’s downtown.

Officers responded to Bruce Avenue Park just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, where they found the younger teenager with knife wounds to his body.

The injured teen was rushed to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. As of Sunday, he was listed in stable condition.

Police said a verbal dispute between the two teenagers led to the suspect allegedly pulling out a knife and stabbing the younger teen multiple times before fleeing in a white vehicle.

The suspect was described as a male with dark skin, about five feet, six inches tall, with a slender build.

Police charged the 19-year-old suspect Sunday afternoon with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
