The Barenaked Ladies announced a July 6 show in Calgary as part of Back Alley’s Summer Events tent. The music festival takes place the same time as the Calgary Stampede, and is an 18+ event.

Earlier this year, the Canadian rock band announced the U.S. leg of their In Flight album promotional tour. The band has scheduled several Canadian shows ahead of U.S. dates, including Calgary’s Stampede-adjacent performance.

The deluxe version of the album came out in March, and features all14 original songs, plus six live songs recorded at their 35th anniversary show at the El Mocambo in Toronto.

The quartet gives Canada a nod on the album, with the song See the Tower, referencing Toronto’s CN tower. The song tells the story of the Toronto landmark.

“It reminds me of a song on Sesame Street or a kid’s book about the CN Tower,” Ed Robertson said on the band’s website.

“I think this band is the underdog success story of the century,” said Robertson. “Show me another band with a 35-year career, 15 million records sold, number one hits worldwide, and has never been on the cover of any major music publication. We’re a band that has committed to being who we are and what we are, and being as good as we can be—doing the best shows we can do, writing the best songs we can write—and we’ve done it for 35 years. I’m super proud of that.”

Tickets for the show can be purchased here.
