Hopefully this is the game that allows the Blue Jays to get hot.
On Saturday afternoon, the Blue Jays defeated the Minnesota Twins 10-8, after being down 7-1. Let’s take a look at what happened and what sparked the comeback.
It was a rough start for Toronto, as the team fell into a 3-0 hole in the top of the first, as Alex Kirilloff hit a single that scored two runs, along with a Davis Schneider error. In the top of the second, the Twins added another run thanks to Trevor Larnarch.

However, the Blue Jays would get a run back in the bottom of the second, as Bo Bichette hit his second home run of the season, pulling it to left field to make it a 4-1 game. Good things happen when the team pulls the ball.

The Jays would fight back though in the following half inning, as Daulton Varsho hit a double to make it 7-2, before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled to make it 7-3 to end the inning.
It appeared the comeback would be short lived as Ryan Jeffers hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth, but the eighth run would be the last that the Twins would get.

Things worth mentioning…

Yimi García made his first appearance in a long time, pitching a clean inning with a strikeout to bring his season ERA to 0.63.
The Blue Jays finished with a season-high 10 runs and 16 hits, with Guerrero Jr going 4-5 with four singles, while Davis Schneider had three hits, as did Danny Jansen. Other players with a hit were Isiah Kiner-Falefa who had two, while Bo Bichette, Daulton Varsho, Cavan Biggio, and Ernie Clement all had one.
Up next: The rubber match will be played on Sunday at 1:37 PM ET, with Alek Manoah starting the game against Bailey Ober. The Blue Jays have lost four consecutive series, they really need a win here.
