Reading Edwin Heathcote’s article on Milan’s annual Salone del Mobile event (“Why Milan is the world’s true design capital”, Opinion, House & Home, April 27) reinforced my belief that my weekly €5.90 to buy the FT Weekend newspaper is money well spent.
Your correspondent, already well known and admired for his writing, surpassed himself in composing what can be regarded as a pure and simple ode to the Lombard city. If I were Giuseppe Sala (Milan’s mayor), I wouldn’t hesitate to make him an honorary citizen.
