Customers with urgent pharmacy concerns can access stores as London Drugs pharmacists are on-site for emergency needs. Customers can also call now and place pharmaceutical orders.

“On April 28, 2024, London Drugs discovered that it was the victim of a cybersecurity incident. Out of an abundance of caution, all London Drugs stores will remain temporarily closed across Western Canada until further notice while continuing to provide customers with urgent pharmacy care,” Wednesday’s company statement read.

It said the privately-held B.C.-born company had hired cybersecurity consultants to assess whether any data had been compromised.

“ In the event our investigation determines that personal information was impacted, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with privacy laws.”

London Drugs had an estimated $3 billion in sales in 2022. The company’s online sales are not affected by the cyberattack.

According to 2023 research from Canadian law firm Blakes, “all industries remain susceptible to a cybersecurity incident,” with attackers who are increasingly aware of how valuable data is to the organizations they target.
