A Surrey man was arrested on Tuesday in relation to the fatal stabbing of a man in White Rock on April 23.
An Integrated Homicide Investigation Team spokesperson, Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, said the 28-year-old man was arrested with support from an emergency response team.

Pierotti did not say whether the man has been charged.
“This remains a very active investigation,” he said.

Kulwinder Singh Sohi, 26, was fatally stabbed by a stranger as he was sitting with a friend at the base of the White Rock Pier at around 9:30 p.m.
The fatal incident occurred two days after a similar knife attack injured 28-year-old Jatinder Singh. Singh was sitting on a bench along the boardwalk with his wife when he was stabbed in the neck, apparently at random. Singh is recovering at home.
In both cases, authorities described the attacker as a dark-skinned man, about 5-foot-11, who wore a hat and a grey hoodie. The suspect was last seen fleeing north from the bloody scene near the promenade following Sohi’s death.
Pierotti told reporters last Friday that while there were similarities between the two incidents, police had not drawn a link between the stabbings or whether the same person was responsible.
After the attacks, the Surrey Crime Prevention Society suspended the deployment of youth volunteers to the seaside community. Society volunteers — a majority of whom are of South Asian descent — typically canvass the area for speeding motorists, graffiti and licence plates of vehicles listed as stolen.
