More than $30,000 worth of drugs have been pulled from the streets after a traffic stop in Hawkesbury.
Members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped an eastbound vehicle for a burnt out headlight on Highway 417 near mile marker 35 around 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16.
Officers seized a large quantity of drugs and $2,235 in Canadian currency.
As a result of the investigation, Etienne Joseph Montpetit, 34, of Ottawa, faces the following charges:
- Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs
- Adult possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada
Ryan Gordon, 39, of Ottawa, face the following charges:
- Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Adult possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drugs
- Adult possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada
Both were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on May 8 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice.
