A public inquiry by a provincial coroner into the deaths of two volunteer firefighters during the 2023 floods in St-Urbain will begin Monday at the La Malbaie courthouse.
Coroner Andrée Kronström will preside over the proceedings, which will hear from witnesses on Monday and Wednesday and during sessions on April 29-30 and May 13-17. The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Christopher Lavoie, 23, and Régis Lavoie, 55, who died after falling into the current as the Gouffre river overflowed its banks.
