But he was soon located at a nearby shopping plaza where witnesses said he’d entered a business and ordered a coffee.

The suspect then fled on foot from police as customers were ordered to evacuate the business, said witnesses.

Shortly after, he was taken away by ambulance after being detained by police. Police said the suspect won’t be named until he is formally charged by a justice of the peace.

The slaying is Calgary’s sixth homicide of the year.
