Justice Chalene Anderson ordered Parsons to serve an 11½-year penitentiary term and Schollen a six-year sentence for their roles in the confinement and brutal assault on a Calgary man on April 15, 2019.

A warrant for Parsons had previously been issued after he failed to show up for an appearance during his prosecution, while Anderson agreed with Crown prosecutor Todd Buziak that Schollen had absconded and could be sentenced in her absence.

Their victim, who can’t be identified, was lured to a residence on Thomson Ave. N.E. by the promise of sex for money.

But when he got there, Schollen led him inside from the street and he was beaten by three males and attacked with what he believed was a fish bonker, before being tied up and dragged to the basement. There the assault continued, where he was burned with cigarettes, struck by Parsons with a socket wrench and kicked in the face.

At one point a third assailant who was convicted with the other two, Carol Nordvall, cut the back of the victim’s jeans before he was sexually assaulted with a sex toy.

Nordvall was sentenced for her role in the attack to 10 years.

All three were convicted in November 2022 of aggravated assault, while Nordvall and Parsons were also found guilty of sexual assault with a weapon, among other charges.

Police described Parsons as 6’1″, 172 pounds, with a medium build, brown hair and green eyes, while Schollen is about 5’3″, 95 pounds with a slim build, brown hair and blue eyes.
