I won’t go into names but during the 2021 election, as I went on my daily neighborhood walks, I saw Conservative signs everywhere – I mean EVERYWHERE! Certain that the Conservative candidate would win our riding, I was flabbergasted to learn the Liberal candidate (who had virtually no neighborhood support) squeezed through with a narrow victory. This may not be the evidence of cheating Brian Lilley refers to (April 4), but he’s certainly spot on when he concludes, “The rest of us look at the evidence in shock and horror.”

STOLEN MAJORITY

In your Letters to the Editor section, so many people write about the defeat of Justin Trudeau come the 2025 election. Word of warning: Do not be surprised when/if there will be another Liberal collusion in the next election, just as there was in 2019 with the NDP. The “Boy King” will steal a majority result from Canadian voters who would only give him a minority government – a precedent has been set. Next, collusion partner could be the Quebecois Separatists (both they and Trudeau seem to hate Anglo-Canada). Will there be any point in casting a vote when Trudeau and whatever party can erase the result of Canadian voters as they did in 2019?

(Your comments are fair, and there is reason enough to be skeptical. But Canadians are wide awake to the failures of Trudeau and are looking forward to voting his government out)

WIDE DRIVEWAY

Rain tax? Why doesn’t the City of Toronto go after the people who widened their driveways during and after the COVID pandemic? Single-car homes can now park three cars side by side. Some were paved, others are interlocking brick. What happened to 60% of property being green space? City-approved back lane houses are taking up entire backyards and, in some cases, they build two-story homes that use the same driveway.

(Let’s hope this rain tax nonsense is dead in the water. This city council will find all sorts of creative ways to create a new tax)
