Calgary police say they have three youths in custody — aged 14 to 15 — after an alleged assault occurred Saturday afternoon at Market Mall.
The victim was believed to be in the food court area when three youths assaulted him at the mall, 3625 Shaganappi Trail N.W. He believed the offenders had a firearm with them. When police arrived they searched the area and found the three suspects in a nearby transit shelter, with a cannister of bear spray.

“There is no active threat to the public,” police said in a late-day news release. Because the investigation is ongoing, no further details were available Saturday night. Market Mall was also the scene of another incident in August, in which 23-year-old Danny Truong was shot and killed outside a mall entrance.
