There are currently about 100 workers employed at Emrick Plastics.

Unifor Local 195 president Emile Nabbout said the union has negotiated a plant closure agreement that includes the option for some of its members to transfer to jobs at Precision Plastics. Those that don’t transfer will qualify for severance packages.

Nabbout said the company decided last year to consolidate some of its operations.

The company makes injected-mold interior and exterior components and assemblies for the auto industry at the 98,000-square-foot facility at 310 Ellis Street E.
