Ottawa Fire Services said Thursday that they have lifted the burn ban in the City of Ottawa.

OFS reminds residents that they must obtain an open air fire permit in order to have an open air fire.

Also, before starting an open air fire, residents must contact the OFS communications centre at 613-580-2880.

The ban was issued in March due to the dry weather conditions this spring. The open-air fire ban ended Thursday morning after the capital was hit with 14.5 mm of rain and 10.8 cm of snow and 14.5 mm of rain over the previous 24 hours.
