The Town of Amherstburg will unveil a review draft document of its proposed new official plan at a public meeting Tuesday, outlining a framework for growth and development over the next 25 years.

The presentation takes place at the Libro Centre from 5 to 7 p.m.

“The updated Official Plan will shape the future of Amherstburg, ensuring a healthy, resilient, and vibrant community for generations to come,” said Deputy Mayor Chris Gibb in a news release.

“Our residents have used their voices to spark the vision for the Amherstburg of tomorrow.”

The official plan review encompasses a variety of areas, including natural heritage preservation, economic development goals and land use, building on the policies and goals outlined in the current plan.

Town officials said it also addresses the impacts of a changing climate and economy and the shifting needs of people who live, work and visit Amherstburg.

The town is also reviewing its zoning bylaw to ensure it aligns with the evolving dynamics of the business community and residential needs.

Residents, business owners and community stakeholders are welcome to attend the presentation Tuesday at 3295 Meloche St.
