Your morning commute into downtown Calgary may take a little longer today with several east-end bridges currently closed due to an ongoing incident in the East Village area.

Access to downtown will be significantly impacted with the Reconciliation Bridge, the 4th Avenue flyover and the 5th Avenue flyover all closed in both directions to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic as police and emergency crews work in the area, Calgary police said in a written statement updated Thursday morning.

There is no risk to the public at this time, police also said.

Commuters are asked to use alternate routes and plan for longer travel times as police anticipate significant delays impacting access to downtown.
