Something went afoul Tuesday and a truck driver received an unwelcome surprise.

Ontario Provincial Police say a wild turkey crashed through the windshield of a transport truck in a “surprising encounter” on Highway 3 at Inman Side Road in Kingsville.

The driver was able to stop the truck safely and call police.

Photos from the scene show the bird sitting on the floor of the cab.

Police said the driver wasn’t injured. The bird survived but was probably pretty sore the next morning.

The truck however didn’t fare so well. It will need a windshield replacement thanks to the unexpected guest’s entrance.

Police remind drivers that it’s important to always pay attention and have full control of a vehicle.
