Provincial police in Bancroft are warning the public about a “canine-type” animal on Bradshaw Road in the town of Bancroft after an “unprovoked attack” on a child Tuesday afternoon.
The child was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The animal is described as black and grey, similar looking to a German Shepherd or Husky breed.
Members of the public are advised to use caution in the area and report any sightings to police.
In case of emergency, call 911.
Bancroft is about 225 km west of Ottawa.
