An RCMP Major Crimes investigation is underway after four people were found dead in a rural residence near Neudorf on Sunday night.
Initial investigation shows there is “no imminent risk to public safety,” said an RCMP news release issued Monday night.

At approximately 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Melville RCMP received a request to do a wellness check at the rural residence, the release notes. When officers attended, they found four deceased adults inside.

“The deaths are being considered suspicious and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken carriage of the investigation in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service,” the release said.
RCMP initially alerted the public Monday morning that there was an “increased public presence” in a rural area near Neudorf related to an ongoing investigation. People were asked to avoid the area and follow directions provided by police.
If there is any change to public safety risk, the RCMP says it will notify the public immediately.
Neudorf is approximately 135 kilometres east of Regina.
