A man known to Kaur was arrested at the scene, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in.

On Saturday, a charge of second-degree murder was laid against Jagpreet Singh.

“This was an isolated incident,” said IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Timothy Pierotti in an update on the case Sunday.

“IHIT will continue to work with AbbyPD over the coming days, not only to advance this investigation, but to support the community affected by this tragedy.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448 or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Pierotti said no further details will be released with the case now before the courts.
