Cowan, selected 28th overall by the Leafs last year, had two assists in the Knights’ 7-4 win in Windsor against the Spitfires, running his point streak to 34 games. The Knights record had been held by Dave Gilmore, who had a 33-game streak in 1993-94.

Cowan’s streak started on Nov. 25 against Barrie. During his impressive string, the forward has 64 points (23 goals and 41 assists).

In 52 games, Cowan has 32 goals and 60 assists for 92 points.

The Toronto Marlies, meanwhile, beat the Laval Rocket 7-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Coca-Cola Coliseum. Joseph Blandisi scored two goals, while Kieffer Bellows, Nick Abruzzese, Matteo Pietroniro, Roni Hirvonen and Dylan Gambrell each scored one. Dennis Hildeby made 30 saves.
