Police say they’ve arrested a man following an early Saturday morning stabbing.

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment say they responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Montague Gold Mines Road.

Police say while they were on route to the scene, a stabbing happened at the same residence.

They say they found a man with a severe injury to his hand and learned another man had fled the home on foot.

Officers provided first aid to the victim, a 30-year-old man of Montague Gold Mines, until EHS arrived and brought the man to the hospital.

RCMP officers along with Police Dog Services, located the suspect outside a nearby residence a short time later.

Police arrested a 52-year-old man of Montague Gold Mines.

He remains in custody pending an appearance in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday.
