Ricky Tiedemann will take the mound for the Blue Jays on Friday as they take on the Detroit Tigers.
It’ll mark his second appearance this spring, after giving up two hits and one earned run off a home run to the Philadelphia Phillies on March 9th. He faced a heavy lineup, getting Kyle Schwarber to fly out, allowing a double to Trea Turner, getting Bryce Harper on a lineout and striking out J.T. Realmuto in the first inning. In the second, he struck out Bryson Stott before allowing a 373-foot home run to Nick Castellanos on an up-and-away fastball.
The Tigers lineup isn’t quite the same as that Phillies group, but there’s still strong hitters in Matt Vierling, Kerry Carpenter and Jake Rogers he will have to navigate through.
