Edmonton Weather: The winds of winter finally break as we dream of spring

A look at Wednesday’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

It’s currently -22 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 7 km/h winds from the southwest and a wind chill of -28.

While Thursday may start out with a frigid -28 wind chill, but by the time we achieve the day’s high of -1 C, that wind chill will drop to -5, and it will stay that way overnight. On Friday things get even warmer, with a high of 4 C and a wind chill dropping to -13 thanks to some leftover 15 km/h winds. Still the weekend forecast looks to get warmer by the day, with Saturday hitting a cloudy 11 C. Alberta’s spring transition can sometimes create some unpredictable weather, but it seems that the worst of winter may finally be behind us.
