“I want to thank Local 444’s vice president and liaison to ZF Mike D’Agnolo, officers James Stewart, Manny Cardoso, workplace chair John Middleton, committee members Chris Deforest, Ron Richie and Unifor staff rep Angela Divitaris for their dedicated work on this tentative agreement,” said Local 444 president Dave Cassidy.

“The committee’s experience and knowledge of the workplace were vital to the process and they remained focused on our member’s critical issues. I commend them for their commitment to our members.”

The 208 workers at ZF will also get improvements in their dental, hearing and vision benefits.

Full-time members will receive a $5,000 performance bonus, an extra personal day in years two and three of the deal along with notable pension improvements.

The contract also addressed contract language issues on posting, overtime, bereavement, vacation, hiring and increases the vacation allotments.

The deal will set the pattern for contract negotiations at the other feeder plants – HBPO, Avancez and Dakkota. HBPO will be the next workplace to begin negotiations.
