It’s -12 C at Saskatoon Diefenbaker International Airport this morning, with 43 km winds and 54 km gusts coming out of the northwest and a wind chill making it feel like -24.

It looks like March is coming in like a lion this year, with snowflurries, high winds and evening frostbite risk all rolled into the first day of the month.

A winter storm watch is in effect across the southern half of the province this weekend. Saturday through Monday, 25-35 cm of snow is expected, with periods of heavy snow, strong winds and blowing snow. Travel is not recommended if it can be avoided.
