DJI is a name that you might more frequently associate with things such as drones. The company makes some of the best drones that are currently in the market, with many models by the company among the most popular options out there. But while it might be its main product, its not the only one. We saw a lot of announcements back at CES 2024, which came to a close last week, but the tech announcements are still pouring in. Now, DJI just announced a professional mic that you might find handy if you’re the kind to make content for social media.

DJI has just released the DJI Mic 2, its second generation of microphones geared towards content creation. The microphone comes in a pretty compact configuration and is meant to lay low while you’re recording videos, giving you an advantage over the audio of your smartphone. Despite its compact size, however, this is still a pretty powerful unit. It features omnidirectional recording capabilities optimized for vocal clarity, as well as intelligent noise-canceling technology that minimizes environmental noise, delivering clear vocals in bustling urban areas or crowded rooms. Additionally, a windscreen addresses windy outdoor scenarios, ensuring clean sound capture.

To safeguard against unexpected audio level spikes, DJI Mic 2 offers a Safety Track feature, recording a second track at -6dB alongside the primary audio track. The DJI Mic 2 also seamlessly connects to devices like DJI Osmo Action, DJI Osmo Pocket, and smartphones via Bluetooth or USB-C, Lightning Adapters, and 3.5mm TRS analog output.

The microphone comes equipped with 8GB of internal storage per transmitter, offering up to 14 hours of uncompressed audio recording. It has an audio transmission range of up to 250 meters and a battery life of up to 18 hours with the charging case. This is a perfect unit for various scenarios and kinds of content creation, from vlogs to interviews to be uploaded on social networks such as Instagram and TikTok.

The device is available in different configurations, with prices ranging from $99 to $349. It’s available in Shadow Black and Pearl White. It’s now available for sale, so make sure to buy yours now.
